I have nominated Dr. Brown to speak at TED. http://www.ted.com/ As an educator, this seems like the biggest national platform and educators all over the US watch videos of speakers. I have seen Dr. Brown speak in Norfolk, VA (either in 2009, or 2010). I am now an instructor at a college in the US Territory of the Northern Marianas Islands. I use videos of Dr. Brown's presentations to my students who will become future teachers. I deeply believe in building relationships between educators and students. My actual address is in Saipan, MP 96950 but you do not have that on your list, so I put down the address of my family in WV. -Cherrie Lovejoy

Whatever you said at the

Whatever you said at the school assembly really worked for my son. He has turned over a new leaf. I thought I would email you right after the event, but I wanted to give it a while to see if it stuck. It has been 2 months and Brian still does the things you instructed. I went on-line and saw some of your videos and I see why you connect so well. You are truly blessed with gifts to positively help others change for the better. I told his school principal, counselor, and his therapist about your impact. Ironically, the therapist has been in your professional trainings. You do a bunch!!!! Keep up the Godly work! Hey, My name is Daunte Everett, I am a college basketball player, who is currently 18 years old and I graduated at 16. I just wanted to say, first and foremost, thank you for giving me the push because I almost and contemplated quitting, because I got cut from my last two junior college teams of being a walk-on . I had to take responsibility and got better with my personal, performance. Because of you, I transformed myself and about to be on scholarship at a D1 school when I graduate from junior college this summer. So thank you for helping me to better myself and improving, inspired me to right a book only not about my life, what I been through but about what to takes not only to get success, but keep it when you get it. The motivation, dedication and inspiration, I appreciate it and want to make myself a reflection of what and who you all are and represent. I've looked to yall as mentors and was wondering, if you could possibly want to check out, read the book when it'll be published in November, the editing will be done in a few weeks and was wondering, if I could send you a copy please. it would mean alot - Daunte Everett

Hello Dr. Brown, You may not

Hello Dr. Brown, You may not remember me, but I was the girl from Potomac State College who waited after your presentation for your autograph. The girl with the red shirt, brown jacket, black purse, and, of course, a red notebook that had notes from your presentation. I wanted to say more that what I did, but I guess the whole concept of being in front of an amazing person got the better of me and I couldn't speak what I wanted to say. But, sometimes words are better to understand written down that to speak them. So now, I'd like to say, thank you. I am currently a college junior by standards, but a sophomore at Potomac State college. I was originally at Shepherd University, but lets just say I got over whelmed and things didn't go well. As I tell people, I jumped into the fire instead of going around it because I thought I was ready for it. But, now I wish I had been to one of your presentations when I was still a freshman. Even though I am a junior now, sometimes its good to have a reminder. Normally I have trouble remembering things from time to time, but I don't think the presentation you gave at the auditorium at Potomac State will leave my mind for a while. One of the parts of your speech that got me was when you talked to the baseball team saying that if you get something, you need to throw something back. That made me think of a saying that I live by now a-days. Its a simple phrase that I think has a lot of meaning, "Give Respect, Get Respect", because sometimes you need to give something in order to get something back. I also have a lot of sayings, but I think this is the one that stood out the most when I think back on the presentation. But, regardless, you were amazing and your presentation had much meaning. I may not be able to see you next year, but maybe I'll see you at another presentation for the school someday in the future. But that's why I asked for the autograph, because, just like life (and as you said with virginity), you only get one chance. And, while you did have shirts and other items available, I feel that written (and spoken) words have more value because there is a stronger connection. I apologize if I ramble, but I truly felt touched. I'll keep my notes, because there may be a time when I need to teach my own children, or members of my family these things when they really matter. I thank you for being the source of that information and that starting point. Bless you, Dr. Brown, for a reminder that may never be forgotten. Hope to hear from you again soon. Sincerely and with gratitude, Rebecca Herrick

After opening day in

After opening day in Rochester I came home and told my family about you. I actually repeated several pieces of wisdom u shared (and some jokes too)! Today my 14 year old son and I were talking/joking while playing a game and he said, I kid you not, "take it seriously but not personally". Pretty incredible what sticks!! Then my husband came home and sounded a bit like u..told me he downloaded a you tube of you speaking while working out. Not sure "thank you" is enough but the difference you made in our lives already is exponential...I'm already happy every waking morning and like to dance-watch out!!! Best, Erika Lusky

Dr. Brown, I need to tell

Dr. Brown, I need to tell you thank you. I sat through your session today with Newton County School System and what you said..... I needed to hear! I don't mean only in my classroom, school, or system, IN MY HEART AND LIFE! I endured one of the hardest years of my life last school year. My husband and I endured 2 adoption failures, and coming back to school meant facing all those fears head on! Twice last year I left school so excited to be a mom only to return empty. I was absent the last week and a half of school to pick up our baby....again failure. I feel like my life last year was failure, which wasn't fair to my students! This year you have renewed and revived me. God spoke through you to me today in ways I cannot even put into words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am a better person for having been in your presence today! Thank you for being a vessel that God used to change my life! A new course was set for me today! I am in the balcony and I am never coming back down! May God continue to richly bless each and everything you do! With Utmost Gratitude, Stephanie Stonek Paraprofessional Newton County Schools

Thank you Dr. Brown for such an awesome presentation! I enjoyed every second of listening to you. You captivated me with humor, weaving your life story and your philosophy on how we can as teachers can bring about positive changes in our students by developing relationships with them. HELLO!!! Dr. Brown

HELLO!!! Dr. Brown was such a pleasure to meet… everyone who was in the audience was educated to the xenophobia that is ours, particularly if “they” don’t look like “us!” His energy and accomplishments are to be admired and emulated. If there was one take-away for me, I would have to say that the phone call he made to the “doctor” on the other end and how it started with the smell of marijuana on a student… …and to think he did not give up on him, who eventually became a PhD himself spoke volumes to the hope that educators should have and can instill. We don’t usually see the finished product, but in this case, to see that individual self-actualize is amazing – all because someone believed in and motivated him!! WOW!! …as Dr. Brown shared his personal story and tragedy, it resonated with the audience, and especially me….coming from a high school dropout, with heroin in my veins and hepatitis C, I too have earned a “real PhD” (brick and mortar school – University of Dayton) with the help and grace of the Good Lord and perseverance (“grit”). …I think I do a good job in inspiring minorities and challenging them to fulfill their destiny… I will never know the depth of those successes, but mine is not to “wonder why, only to try…” I do so hope that Dr. Brown will be invited back to speak at the fall conference at Sinclair and motivate ALL the SCC personnel to better assist and retain minorities, as well as all other students. Tell Dr. Brown I said, “Keep up the good works!” Sincerely, Marc Professor Marc A. Smith, Ph.D. Biology Department, Room #3011 Sinclair Community College

As a person in the

As a person in the professional world I say thank you to Dr. Brown and I know I speak on behalf of all of my co-workers and the NSWC Federal Credit Union that we greatly appreciated all the insight and everything about the evening was lovely. As a person who shares faith convictions with Dr. Brown I say that I was inspired tremendously as a young person to see an adult man present himself in a way that is inspiring for young men to rise up to the challenge of being positive and in this case Godly influences in every area of their lives. The truth that was shared is from the beginning and if we commit to it I believe we can over-come as was presented by Dr. Brown I’d be glad to stay in touch and it would be a true honor to hear from Dr. Brown again someday in whatever way. Sincerely, Jason M. Skaggs

I agree with the comments

I agree with the comments left here. I am now a BIG FAN! It was a delightful & hilarious presentation. I've literally been to countless talks by "so-called" gurus and motivational speakers. Doc Brown presented himself as neither. He was the most "down-to-earth" yet sophisticatedly polished professional I have ever seen. I understand he does not market his services, which is probably a good thing since he has such a large family. If Hollywood got just a tiny glimpse of this man, he would be the World's Next Biggest Thing. His dynamite talk transformed nearly everyone in attendance. Thank you for leading from the "head & heart" while showing & encouraging us to do the same. Blessings to your mission! _Cheryl Andersen

Dr. Brown – I attended the session you did for Suffolk Parent University yesterday Saturday, November 16th. It was AWESOME! I can’t thank you enough. I was planning to attend alone. However, my son Jack – who is probably the funniest and smartest person I know – also attended with me as somewhat of a punishment. The day prior we had discovered that he had done some inappropriate Google searches on his Ipod Touch. He is a great kid, but made a poor choice. In addition to extended technology restrictions, additional chores at home, etc, he also had to attend your session with me at Parent University. Neither of us knew exactly what to expect. Upon arrival, I noticed that he was one of the only older kids there. However, we both noticed the other older kid in the cafeteria with the crazy braids – we loved the hair!!!! Your presentation was so energized and on point that we both took many things away from it - especially when you spoke of character – what you do when no one is watching! That was very timely for him! Thank you for speaking directly to both of us. In addition to the laughs, it has given us wonderful talking points to help us through this critical and important parenting opportunity! I sincerely thank you for being at the right place at the right time with a fantastic message! All the Best, Beverly Van Straten

It was masterful! I left with a greater invigoration for teaching, and I owe all to you. Thank you for answering your calling to empower teachers to empower students. I am so grateful for everything I learned. Well done! Jonda Ward

I was in the audience yesterday when Dr. Brown spoke to the Henry County School District administrators and new teachers. I, too, am a graduate of William and Mary - graduated in 1984 with degrees in Psychology and Sociology. Just wanted to say "Go Tribe" to a fellow Virginian! We very much enjoyed your presentation. Adolph was great on and off stage. His generosity after stepping off the stage was hugely appreciated. His talk was funny and tied-in beautifully to the content. The customization was AWESOME! It was the first time everyone said they took something away. HOMERUN!!!! Paul Prince, Citibank

Dr. Brown's contribution to the Customer Service Experience & Leadership Symposia was "the talk" of the three days. "Doc" Brown was everything they could have hoped for and more -- charming, warm, effusive, engaging. He was so wonderful to work with. The Q & A segment was executed brilliantly with an intelligent & honest dialogue. -- Customer Service Corporation

I watched Dr.Adolf Brown in amazement! I'll never present like that. But it's good to be reminded every now and again what genius looks like. (Henry Cobb, Canada)
